CV/Bio

Jacqueline Pearson's art is a celebration of everyday things, in uncommonly vibrant colors that elevate them past the everyday. Her work epitomizes the power of art to make us appreciate the beauty and wonder of things we may take for granted.

She works in acrylic, watercolor and oil and her primary subject is nature, even sometimes abstracting it to capture its undulating rhythm and playfulness. The vibrant colors of fall and the striking glacial imagery of the western winter appear frequently in her work, unsurprisingly since she is based in the Colorado Rockies. The freedom and effortless grace of the wilderness parallels her approach to creativity. "Nature is really an ideal subject for me-it encompasses everything the best art has: beauty, gentleness, violence, power."

Color is an important element of her art, but not an end in itself. "In my work, color highlights the subject, so I sometimes use unrealistic colors, taking a lot of artistic license. . . . I paint what I feel rather than taking a photorealistic approach."

Jacqueline is a native of New Orleans, LA, now residing in Colorado Springs, CO.  She is an artist, photographer and copywriter.  She lived in Newport Beach, CA, where in addition to private art instruction, studied in Laguna Beach School of Art, Coastline Community College, Newport Beach School of Photography and New York Institute of Photography.   Has won First, Second and Honorable Mention awards for her paintings, and has successfully participated in numerous national and international juried competitions.  Her paintings are in the collections of many national and international collectors. Jacqueline’s belief is that art is an exciting process and continues her education through on-going workshops.

She is a member of the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society, and her working studio is at Cottonwood Center for the Arts in Colorado Springs, CO.
